Mars and Space Explorations by private space Companies

The year 2015 goes down as one of the most important years for the space scientists. They made one of the most important discoveries in a long time. They made a successful landing on the galaxy’s most mysterious planet, The Mars, and they have also found compelling evidence of water flowing on the planet in liquid state, this added to the rumours of existence of life on the red planet. Potentially finding water on the surface of mars can be considered as a great victory. For years scientists have been making statements based on the pictures procured by NASA (North American Space Association) using various satellites that there are traces of water on the surface of Mars. The recent discovery sure calls for a manned exploration to the planet, which takes years for the journey to complete.

The technology advanced a hundred fold compared to the technology that got humans to the moon. The computers used in the program which aided astronauts to land on the moon are as powerful as today’s calculators.

This journey to the mars can be boosted by the more advanced space crafts and control systems which eliminate the risk factors involved by using older technology. There has been advent of private space companies who are working on their own space craft’s to take humans to the red planet. The space entrepreneurs, as we can call them so are driven by passion rather than making money. The use of alternate fuels to aid the long journey is being tested and astronauts are being trained to sustain the conditions on the surface of mars.
Out of all these space enthusiastic entrepreneurs, Elon Musk, the man behind the space company SpaceX, the first private company to send supplies to the ISS (International Space Station) has launched 3 space shuttles to survey conditions on mars. Although failed to reach the mars, he dreams to send people to mars in the next ten years.

British Billionaire Richard Branson and his space tourism company Virgin Galactic, has been planning to send normal civilians (not astronauts) with a bit training to outer space with a sub orbital flight aided by a private aircraft. Although they are not planning to explore mars yet, we could say that they soon might,
considering recent developments. In his famous book Mission to Mars, Buzz Aldrin, the second person to set foot on moon has advocated that our next goal should be setting foot on Mars. The Hollywood also helped the curiosity by producing movies on mars. Movies like the Martian, a space odyssey made people think about the possibility of reaching the mysterious red planet.

The six month trip to the planet is quite challenging as it won’t be easy for the astronauts signing up for this long journey. They face long hauls of isolation; living in the cramped quarters, health risks and most importantly the harsh weather conditions on mars, The truth is that we should be aware that there will be disasters and near misses.

Usage of technology in Education, Good phenomenon or bad?

The constant and rapid growth in technology can be considered as a boon, it created a world with many opportunities. The use of technology in education is widespread across the globe, be it in any way. The use of computers, projections, slides etc. Plays a major part in today’s teaching.

Have we ever for a second given a thought on this? Whether it is leaving a positive impact or it is making us rely on it too much. For example, is technology causing education to improve itself time to time or have we been catching up with the trend of education technology.

Technology in education has been a debatable topic among the societies. Everyone wanted education to be modernized and making it aided by technology. There are numerous positive and negative aspects to education technology. But, as the technology has been gradually embraced by the institutes of education, they realized its importance in education. The advent of technology opened doors to many possibilities, its positives suddenly outnumbered it negatives. There is no doubt that the education sector transformed rapidly owing it growth to advancing technology. The education and technology can be used for greater good, if used with right vision and reason.
With technology the students, teachers, parents and educators have a variety of tools at their disposal.  Here are few ways where technology is used for better education

Teachers can collaborate their ideas and share them online. Teachers can share their ideas across the internet with other teachers for the betterment of the teaching; they can procure accurate information, refine their work and provide the students with best of information.

Learning access to students.  Students can be able to access the vast pool of information available in the internet; they can enhance their understanding and get further knowledge. This develops curiosity in a child and encourages him to learn more. There are plenty of resourceful and credible websites providing information, which can be accessed by free of cost by students, this will help them achieving better grades and also to understand the subject more deeply.

Technology provides alternatives to class room teaching. Face to face interaction is a good way of teaching, as it develops social skills among the children and also in this way it can help a teacher to understand a child’s needs much better and pay attention to his needs, but some children learn better at their own pace in their comfort zone. Online education is accredited now and it provides feasible alternative to students who wants to access education at their own comfort.

Over the past years there has been numerous studies conducted to study the impact of technology on education. Most of the studies have demonstrated the positive aspects that technology had on education. Although there are few negative aspects, but they are negligible compared to the positive aspects? The role of technology is very vital and now the question is no longer if technology betters education, but rather how do we use technology affectively to better education
